Ann Jamison, LMFT

Marriage & Family Therapist

We all want to experience joy and happiness as our family shifts and changes. Sometimes that comes easily, but many times, it is a roller-coaster ride of intense emotion that tests us at every turn. Know that if you are struggling, wherever you are on your parenting journey, you are not at fault, you are not to blame, and you are not alone. Therapy can provide a safe space to explore difficult emotions and find the support you need during this time.

Ann's approach to clients is compassion and strengths based. She tailors therapy to each individual client, focusing on your specific needs, strengths, beliefs, and goals. Topics that she often works with include difficult birth experiences/traumatic birth, loss, partner relationships, anxiety, depression, scary/intrusive thoughts, unplanned cesarean birth, and pregnancy termination.

Ann is trained in PSI's components of care as well as Brainspotting, a neurobiology-based treatment model combining traditional therapy and somatic methods to access and heal trauma.

Since her own parenting journey began, she has volunteered with Postpartum Support International as a district and then state co-coordinator. Ann has also had the privilege of facilitating multiple groups and workshops in the Madison area on postpartum depression and traumatic birth. She recently completed a training workshop on infant loss with author and trainer Sherokee Isle.

Ann currently sees clients in my office on Madison's west side. For clients who are on bedrest or recovering from a difficult birth, she is able to offer some in-home appointments as well. Sliding fee scale available.
