Maya Garbuz, MSSW, CISW

Certified Maternity and Infant Sleep Consultant

Infant Massage Instructor

Maya has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from State University in Russia and Master's in Social Work from UW-Madison. She also holds Certifications as Maternity and Child Sleep Consultant and Infant Massage Instructor. Maya is the founder of Madison Sleep Consultant.

Her passion for working with families developed out of strong interest in overall child development, but she did not become interested in sleep until her first child was born. While trying to figure out how to help her family get much needed sleep it became obvious to her that the struggles they were experiencing were very common. She had begun studying sleep independently and eventually graduated from International Maternity Institute with Maternity and Child Sleep Consultant Certification.

Maya has worked with families and young children for over 16 years as a nanny, teacher, parent coach, and social worker. She believes that anyone can achieve a good night's sleep with some guidance and support. She recognizes that every family is unique, so her approach to teaching healthy sleep habits is very individualized: she helps families set their goals and decide on the methods they want to use, so that everyone feels comfortable about the approach they use to teach their children healthy sleep habits.
