Patricia Smith

Occupational Therapist, Lactation Consultant

Patricia Smith is an Occupational Therapist and Lactation Consultant who specializes in working with infants and children, children with special needs, and adults with pain issues. She uses a combination of Craniosacral therapy, Visceral manipulation, Lymphatic drainage, and special lymphatic work that assists with improving circulation to the brain. Her knowledge as an OTR gives her perspective on sensory motor and neurological issues. She believes that a combination of listening to the body's cues and hands-on techniques can promote natural healing.

Patricia uses these skills to assist mothers and babies with nursing challenges, babies with torticollis and head-shape issues (plagiocephaly), as well as other alignment and neurodevelopment concerns. She helps children and adults with pain, headaches, ear infections, and other traumas. She assists mothers prenatally and postnatal to optimize the birth.

A Chicago native, Patricia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health in 1986 and her Occupational Therapy degree from University of Illinois in Chicago in 1991. She is an internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a certified infant massage instructor through the International Institute of Infant Massage.
