“New Year. New feels. New Breaths. New Chances. Same Dreams, fresh starts. I dare you to believe in yourself, you deserve all the magic.” — Unknown

The New Year is always a fun and refreshing time. Our society loves to celebrate health and wellness during this time. But what does that look like for a parent?

Maybe you want your family to eat healthier, be more active, take more risks. Maybe self-care is your desire, or spending more time with your partner. Whatever your goal, resolution, or dream. I give you the permission to go for it! But I challenge you. Don’t focus on so many things. Don’t feel that you must have a goal for every area of your life, for every child, for you, for your partner. Instead I want you to take a moment.

Breathe.

Think of your life, think of what you would like to improve. What is the first word? That is your goal. It could be something that has taken years to finally try. It could be a meal you have been trying to get your family to enjoy. Whatever that word is, do it.

The New Year doesn’t have to be complicated or challenging or even new. There are so many wonderful things that I’m sure you already enjoy. But enhancing the year is always a good idea. I hope this gives you some peace and I hope this year brings your one thing into all you want it to be.

Happy New Year!
